The teasing laughter has finally faded. Or maybe, it was never gone at all.
She brushed dust from her knitted cap and pulled it snug over her ears, then gathered her scattered books, tucking them deep into her bag. So next time, maybe they won’t be found so easily.
“Ha-ha—” Children’s laughter echoed again. She instinctively clutched her bag to her chest, curling up like a startled creature, eyes darting around, alert and wary.
But when she looked up, it was just some kids playing in the distance, and it had nothing to do with her.
In the summer courtyard, flowers were in full bloom. Sunlight spilt onto the swings, lighting up the bright, carefree faces of the children.
Everything around her was alive, thriving, in motion, everything except her. She was the odd one out, the only one who didn’t belong.
— The world was right there before her, yet completely out of reach.
The joyful noise has quieted, but somehow, it still lingered in her ears.
She hung Toto’s collar on a branch. Beneath the tree were the pinwheels they made together by the sea. She had told Toto back then that when summer came again, they’d return.
Now, she hoped Toto never truly understood that promise. Because life is short, but summer always finds its way back.
“… We all miss the friends we’ve lost. We miss them because they’re gone. But maybe it’s the other way around — when you miss someone, it means they’re already with you.”
She looked up at her mother’s words, as a breeze rustled the blossoms overhead, much like Toto’s wagging tail.
Beneath the flower trellis, still wet with rain, the rocket she had built with her mother gleamed with droplets. In the corner by the fence, their old frisbees lay stacked.
She found herself effortlessly recounting the memories behind each object. It turned out that those memories had quietly embraced her all along.
— The world is still there. Not perfect, not broken, just like you living inside it.
That warm laughter may be just a memory now. Or maybe, it has always been leading her forward.
She held the power gifted by the Dragonkin, gazing out over the starlit ruins. It reminded her of that night sky she once shared with that idiotka.
“If we really stop the Shadow Calamity, solve the Martian computer’s mystery… what do we do after that?”
“Probably get sent on another mission? Where there’s danger, we go! Hoho! Hm? Why’re you looking at me like that?”
“Another mission to save the world? I thought you’d say, ‘sleep in, play games, and no one tells Dark Lord Coralie what to do!'”
And in their shared laughter, she suddenly realized that her little bubble of contentment had already merged with theirs. Their journeys had intertwined, never to part again.
She lifted her head high, gripping the dragon scale tightly. Under the watchful eyes of the divine, she stepped forward without fear, ready to meet her fate.
“I know there’s no turning back. But saving the world —
that’s seriously cool!”
— The world is right here, waiting for her and those who follow to shape its future.

Scene 30: Interior, night, the villain’s vault
△ Night has fallen. Inside the vault that houses hundreds upon hundreds of stolen HOMU dolls, the infrared beams flickered on one after another. The hired goons guarding the loot slouched at the entrance, one of them letting out a weary yawn.
△ With a soft “click”, a panel in the ceiling quietly slid open.
A lilting serenade began right on cue as the camera pulled in toward the opening…
△ From the dark square gap above, the ever-dashing Rita-sama made a dramatic entrance, descending on a rappel harness. Lace trimmed her exquisite skirt, and the air around her was filled with the fragrance of roses. She glided down the rope, drawing closer to the web of laser beams.
△ Holding her breath, Rita-sama surveyed the rows of HOMU dolls arranged throughout the vault.
The camera followed her gaze toward the back of the vault, paused, then pushed forward until the Platinum HOMU King, sealed beneath a glass dome, came into full view.
Rita-sama: So this is where you’ve been.
△ A self-assured smile curved across her lips. She continued her descent, arms extended and toes pointed, moving as if she were performing a midair ballet, before slipping gracefully past every laser and every guard’s line of sight to land right in front of the Platinum HOMU King.
Rita-sama: From now on, you’ll be Theresa-sama’s ██th birthday present.
△ With a gentle touch, she lifted the world’s one and only Platinum HOMU King doll.
Rita-sama: Rita never disappoints expectations.

(Excerpt) …Susannah, I know you have a vivid imagination and plenty of enthusiasm. You even paid for the set and props out of your own pocket. But could you… maybe… tone it down just a little? This is educational material for students.
Of course, I still saw lots of your fun ideas! Like the endless HOMU dolls, and Rita planning a birthday surprise for me —
— Wait. How did you know how old I am?!
Script Title — Agent Rosette: Super Monster
Plot Summary:
Rita, a top-class agent with Schicksal’s highest operations license, unexpectedly reunited with her childhood friend Durandal while investigating the whereabouts of the super monster, Stan. The two teamed up.
Working flawlessly together, their bond deepened through life-and-death trials. Rita prepared three meals a day for Durandal, and Durandal chose Rita’s perfume each morning. But it was later revealed that Durandal was the sole master of the super monster, the very person who had unleashed the fearsome beast.
They argued, broke apart, and went their separate ways, only to be drawn back together again by an unspoken connection. In the end, Stan was humbled by Rita’s overwhelming strength, and Durandal was moved by Rita’s resolve to save the world. Together, they vowed to create a brighter, more beautiful, more hopeful new world.

Susannah, I found this script tucked into the mission report you submitted. Did you hand it in by mistake? Please check more carefully before submitting next time. I’m returning it, please submit the correct report as soon as possible.
However, Rita saw the section about “Durandal being shrunk by drugs and kidnapped, and Rita going to rescue her,” and she said she was very interested. She’ll be in touch.
Stan also got unusually excited reading this… Don’t tell me it wants a role?
…
(Several smudged claw prints)
You insolent humans! How dare you scribble my noble feline name into your silly script! And you made me lose to Rita in the final battle, completely absurd, meow!
How is Rita better than me? I know she cooks a tiny bit better, moves a tiny bit faster, and has nails that are a tiny bit cleaner and prettier… but in strength, popularity, and sheer adorableness, she could never surpass me, meow!
Foolish human, rewrite the ending so the mighty super beast Stan wins a glorious victory! Durandal must brush Stan’s soft fur every day, and Rita must serve delicious meals to Stan at every feeding! That ending would go viral, definitely! Hurry up and rewrite it, meow!
Agent Rita’s Bio: (Excerpt)
Overview:
Rita Rossweisse is the heart and soul of Agent Rosette: The Perfect Lady. She embodies the essence of a Schicksal Agent — poise and grace are the armor of a modern knight.
As Schicksal’s finest agent, Rita is the organization’s ace and a steadfast guardian. Elegant in manner, learned in all things, and flawlessly dressed at all times — custom gowns, lace parasols, and velvet gloves are her signature equipment. To her, impeccable lady-like etiquette is not just a moral code but an invincible weapon. She lives by the belief: “Perfection is my lifelong pursuit.”
Traits: elegant, patient, warm, beautiful, generous, kind, powerful, exceptional, resilient, brave…
Signature Moment:
The highlight of the story is when Rita Rossweisse demonstrated the Schicksal Agent’s code of conduct to the new trainee, Susu. Wearing a refined dress, she stepped into a cafe and paused right where the afternoon sunlight streamed through the window. A berserk Honkai beast burst in, and Rita responded instantly in a swift, precise, and utterly composed manner. With her ornate parasol and flawless combat technique, she subdued the creature in a heartbeat. She moved with perfect fluidity, never losing her grace, planting a seed of admiration in Susu’s heart…
…
Ugh, I’m so sleepy… No, I can’t sleep, I haven’t finished! Susu is basically me! Susu is a reflection of my inner monologue on exactly how I felt when I first met Rita-sama in person! I absolutely can’t fall asleep before finishing this script! I… must… not… fall…… asleep……

Comments:
Susannah, thank you for the care and dedication you’ve put into my course, and for the wonderful story you wrote with such passion and sincerity.
Your script reminded me of a young girl. Many years ago, she once sat in the Abyss Angel café in Manchester, listening to a Senpai speak about the duty of the Valkyries. Something in that Senpai’s words and demeanor planted a seed in the girl’s heart. From that day on, wanting to become a Valkyrie like Senpai, the girl, though rather clumsily, began to demand “perfection” from herself.
Back then, the girl was just like Susu in your script, completely taken by Senpai’s grace. For a time, she believed that was what “perfection” truly meant. But after going through countless sessions of training and battle, she slowly came to understand what her Senpai was really striving for — an ideal of becoming a guardian who could protect the peace of those around her.
As for “perfection,” I believe it was only a small byproduct, something her Senpai gained without even aiming for it.
So, Susannah, there’s no need to go after “perfection” any longer. Whether as a Valkyrie or as an agent, our purpose is to shine, to protect, and to let our very presence become something others can rely on. That is why this role matters.
I’ve read your script from beginning to end. Between the lines of admiration, I can already feel that “seed of admiration” in your heart breaking through the surface. It’s an honor and a joy to know I could inspire such thoughts and motivation in you.
If you’d like, you can leave the revisions and continuation of the script to me. I’ll help you finish all of it. For now, please get some rest. Even a future guardian needs enough sleep to stay well prepared.
At the Data Research Institute, Chenxue is known for her meticulous nature, mature demeanor, and taking her time to put things in order. Countless people have speculated about her younger days, especially when she points out their worries with an inscrutable smile.
But none would have guessed that Chenxue dressed so wildly and acted so tough back in middle school. She was impulsive, clumsy, and had more street smarts than book smarts.
However, when she held out her hand in encouragement, her smile then was the same as her smiles in the future.
