A new story dawns on the Red Planet!
Spoilers for Part 1 and 1.5

Valkyrie Lore
Under the command of Overseer Theresa Apocalypse, the Valkyries are a military institution of mostly female warriors. Using special technology and supernatural strength, they defend the Earth against threats. Until recently this was primarily the threat of the mysterious ‘Honkai’. This threat has been mostly neutralised, though several questions remain unanswered.
Helia was first introduced during the special chapter ‘The Star which the Moon Gazes Upon’. She is a huge fan of Earth’s Greatest Valkyrie, Bianka ‘Durandal’ Ataegina.
While she had trouble getting along with her mission partner, Coralie, they have managed to warm up to each other.
After training on the Moon with her idol, Durandal, and Kiana, Bronya and Mei, Helia was sent on a mission to Mars with Coralie.

Coralie is the adopted daughter of Lieserl Albert Einstein, and Helia’s fellow valkyrie. She has been affected by a mysterious Honkai phenomenon, giving her a tail and fluffy ears.
The ‘6626’ is a reference to the Planck Constant. Her last name chosen as an homage to Einstein’s late colleague and friend, Emma Planck.
She too trained on the Moon with the heroes of Earth before setting out on the mission to Mars.

Universe Lore
- The Sea of Quanta is a chaotic part of the Universe, housing unstable ‘bubble worlds’ that require special methods to prevent dissipating. Typically this method is the ‘Ether Anchors’. Special objects that keep the bubble world intact.
- A representation of stable worlds in the Universe as a tree-like structure. Like a timeline branching infinitely. These ‘worlds’, of a format akin to the Solar System, are separated by the Imaginary Barrier.
Due to the vast nature of the lore, it has become common for certain translation issues to occur. One such issue is that the words for ‘Universe’, ‘World’, ‘Galaxy’, ‘Milky Way’, ‘Star System’, ‘Sea of Stars’ etc. often get mixed up. This may cause some confusion going forward.
The most important one to be aware of is that ‘world’ is often mistaken for ‘universe’. This issue is consistent throughout most of Honkai Impact 3rd.
Solar System Lore
The Solar System in Honkai Impact 3rd has a couple of established truths to keep track of. Let’s do a quick overview:
- Locations that have been touched on by the story prior to Part 2 include Earth, The Moon, Venus, Mars and Phosphorus.
- The Solar System is surrounded by an barrier, which prevents regular spacefarers from passing through and exploring further into the Universe.
Earth was attacked by an entity called the Cocoon of Finality, which caused Honkai phenomena in an attempt and replicate itself. During the Current Era, the Valkyries of Earth managed to pacify the Cocoon by installing Kiana Kaslana as a Goddess of Earth. She remains stuck on the Moon as the Earth stabilises.
The decisive battle was accompanied by a complicated plot, which caused various extreme phenomena. This became known as the Great Eruption on Earth.

Before Kiana’s intervention, the Cocoon attempted to reach its goals using a ‘world cycle’, resetting civilisation repeatedly to try and get different results. Each time the world is reborn, it enters a new ‘Era’.
During the Previous Era, humanity sent out an Ark to find a new home for their species. Then the Earth was reset, leading to the Current Era.

Earth’s heroes used the battleship Hyperion as a primary means of transportation, with the on-board AI called AI-chan.
During the final battle, they were met with the mysterious AI-chan Lambda, a different version of AI-chan. Lambda was born in a pseudo-time crystal, and is uncertain about the truth of her origins. She witnessed time on loop, and fell into the role of an ‘observer’. She became enamoured with the girls’ struggle for a happy end, and poured the story into a video game called ‘Honkai Impact 3rd’, which she distributed across other worlds.
Eventually, she decided to interfere and become part of the story. Using knowledge of the story and power drawn from the players of her ‘game’, she aided the heroes in saving the world.

Venus was once attacked by the Cocoon of Finality in a similar manner to Earth. The clash resulted in the destruction of civilisation on Venus. The inhabitants called the planet ‘Purusha’.

An inhabitant of Venus, Sa, replicated Cocoon’s functions to become Godlike herself. She then attempted to rebuild her civilisation at the edge of the Solar System.

The Ark from Earth’s Previous Era stumbled upon where Sa was trying to create her new civilisation. The dwarf planet was named ‘Phosphorus’, and lay near the edge of the Solar System, closer to the Imaginary Barrier.

Sa came to a clash with people from Earth and with her own creations. She was defeated, and sank into the Sea of Quanta. Sa’s own creation, Vita, ended up taking a great chunk of Sa’s power, and is essentially a Godlike being. With the Eyes of Bodhi, she can act as an ‘observer’ to the world.

Few things were known about Mars. The Cocoon of Finality has visited the planet in the past, but eventually left. From the outside, the planet looks dead and desolate.
In ‘The Star which the Moon Gazes Upon’, we received a flashforward of Kiana meeting a mysterious individual in a dream. However, the exact reason for this magical meeting is unknown.

Info: Side Stories
Over the course of the story, you will also unlock ‘Side Stories’. These take place at various times and locations during the plot. You can choose to do these as soon as they unlock, or after you complete the chapter.
Many of these missions have stories. It is highly recommended to play these before moving on to other chapters. Pure gameplay ones like Treasure Hunting are less essential.
Chapter 1: Hundred Years of Solitary Shadow
Tides of Time Gone By
Note: Main chapters and events can be very long. You don’t have to complete them in one sitting.
The time has come to enter the new age of Honkai Impact 3rd.
Go to the Attack menu and enter ‘Tides of Time Gone By’. Have fun!
Note: It’s recommended to exit the open world as soon as the chapter is over. It’s possible to accidentally trigger the next chapter immediately.
You might have seen in the artworks and promos that Dream Seeker has both a female and a male version. Entering the new chapter, it may confuse you that you start the story as the female version, and cannot choose.
After playing deep enough into the first chapter, you will be able to interact with a mirror in the Dream Seeker’s apartment. There, you will be able to swap to the male version if you so desire.
At the start of the chapter, you are called ‘me’. When you reach the right point in the story, you are given the option to choose a name.
While it’s possible to change your name, it is recommended to choose a name that sounds natural as a name for immersion purposes. This name will appear above your text box and in the dialogue. Of course, this is entirely up to you.
The default name given is ‘Entropy’. If you like to use the Chinese version, it’s ‘Shāng’
These special quests unlock either through chapter progress, or by exploring the areas available for this chapter.

Character Lore (aka: Who are these people?)
Kiana Kaslana is the Goddess of Earth. After an arduous life journey, she managed to ‘claim’ the power of Finality, saving the world from the dangerous ‘Cocoon of Finality’.
The same entity that supposedly plagued Mars so many years ago.
She remains on the Moon, unable to safely return to Earth without upsetting the balance of Honkai Energy. Together with the scientists of Earth, she studies and works to safeguard the planet against the power of the Honkai, and to hopefully be able to return home within a few years.
Kiana’s most dearly beloved, Raiden Mei is a woman who has seen things you wouldn’t believe.
She became the Third Herrscher in Nagazora, gaining the power to control electro magnetic fields, but destroyed a city in the process.
She met with the simulated remnants of the heroes of the ancient world, and eventually rose to become the Herrscher of Origin, counterpart to Finality.
Saving the world was one thing. But after that, life still had to begin. She became a teacher at St Freya Academy.
It took her a long time to find her place in the world, but next to Kiana, she found it.
Bronya in the past had very little. She lost her parents. Her guardians. She lost the love of her life. She lost her ability to walk. Her emotive centres were damaged.
She became a monotonous and inexpressive remnant of a person, acting at the whims of her new ‘mother’, with her own heart sinking beneath the surface, struggling to find a place in the world.
But after suffering the greatest losses, she found triumph after triumph. She became the Herrscher of Reason. She found her beloved Seele. She regained the ability to walk, and to feel deeply. She ascended above Reason to become Herrscher of Truth…
And eventually chose to pursue her own path as a game developer, and pursue her own passions. her place in the world at a desk. But when the world needs her… when her friends need her, she’s ready to answer the call of duty once more.

Bitterness for a Sleepwalker
Collecting Figments
This is a special Story quest. It should unlock automatically. It was originally launched as an event, and is part of a small collection of permanent events.
This is very story essential.
In the menu of Bitterness for a Sleepwalker, you’ll find the story under the names:
- EX Chapter: Awakened from a Dream
- EX Chapter: Person in a Dream
This is the recommended order for playing these chapters.
Shadow Avatar takes place before the EX Chapters. You can play it as a flashback.
You can find these by opening the permanent event menu in Oxia.
As you probably noticed, when Vita reset the Dream Seeker to ‘default settings’, if you are playing using the male form, the character returns to the female form from the beginning of the story.
Indeed, male Dream Seeker is not another version of the character. It is the same character, changing forms. People around didn’t notice because, well, the system allowed it to go unnoticed. So Dream Seeker could just take on whatever form they felt like using the mirror.
Character Lore (aka: Who are these people?)

One of the more powerful beings in the Solar System. Vita is a cunning and difficult to read woman. Sa, a scientist from Venus who achieved a godlike power, created Vita in her own image. Eventually, Sa was defeated by Vita and her allies at the time, and Vita took some of Sa’s power, becoming a more godlike being herself.
Despite their alliances, Vita had broken the trust of the main cast several times over, and thus those around her find it difficult to trust her and connect with her.

This crumbling statue is thought to be the corpse of the Herrscher of Finality of a Previous Era. A godlike being of the Honkai that laid waste to the Earth, and ushered in the end of human civilisation. From the ashes of that world, humanity would rise again.
Although it was never truly explained why, she has the same face as Kiana Kaslana, just like several other characters from the Previous Era resemble those born in the current era.

In the Previous Era, there was a special AI called Prometheus, which had several units at its disposal. Number 17 was selected by Dr Mobius and Dr MEI to execute a special plan.
That Number 17 died as a part of the plan. This Prometheus is not her.
When the Herrscher of Finality destroyed the world, it created special ‘bubble worlds’. These bubble worlds contained reflections of the last days of the Era, and were destined to fall apart.
One such bubble world was kept preserved beyond its expiry date, and this world contained a reflection of the original Number 17. This reflection was then rescued from that dying world, and eventually joined up with the main cast.
This is our Prometheus.
Similar to how the ancient Herrscher of Finality resembled Kiana Kaslana, Prometheus No 17 resembles Bronya Zaychik.

Durandal is the world’s strongest Valkyrie and Kiana Kaslana’s ‘sister’ (it’s a long story). She is a Stigma Awakened hero, and an extremely powerful warrior of mankind.

Theresa is a clone of the legendary Valkyrie ‘Kallen Kaslana’, an ancestor of Kiana.
Her genes are spliced with the Honkai Beast Vishnu, giving her great regeneration and hidden power. As a side effect, she hasn’t aged a day since she came out of the cloning vat in the form of a child.
Theresa is a strong leader and a compassionate woman, but is always under a lot of stress. She inherited the seat of Schicksal Overseer from Otto Apocalypse, her creator and adopted grandfather. With the seat and his name, she inherited a great baggage as well.
Deeper in the Dark
Dream Seeker has discovered her own nature as a data entity, and has entered the system once more, this time with Vita’s guidance.
However, as soon as she entered the system, Chenxue appeared, and does not seem to remember her.
Note
The story has now truly begun. If you’ve come this far, we urge you once more to play Part 1 if you haven’t already.
Going forward, we will still include some small recaps for returning cast or info when we think it’s worth doing. But we can’t do it for everything.

Schicksal Work Guide
Event
This was a time limited event, so we’re including a playlist of fan footage to watch it.
Follow a tired and overworked Theresa Apocalypse as she attempts to run Schicksal by not running Schicksal… Something doesn’t seem right here.
This event relies heavily on Part 1/1.5 content, so it may be more difficult to follow for players who started on Part 2.
Character Lore
Susannah is a young Valkyrie who dilligently tries to play her part in resolving any crisis. She’s a clutz and a scaredy cat who doesn’t know just how strong she is, but her heart is in the right place.
Like Helia, she idolises Durandal. Unlike Helia, she sees the valkyries she idolises through the lens of a shoujo manga, sparkly and pretty. Captivating.
This event featured many Part 1/1.5 characters, but not as themselves. We’ll reserve the character recaps for when the real deal shows up.

Character Lore
If you’re new, this event probably confused you. Don’t worry, it’s intentional. The story takes place somewhere in Vita’s past, before the events of Part 2’s story.
Marah was another Venutian, just like Sa (Vita’s creator).
Sa ‘preserved’ Marah when her world ended, and their relationship became antagonistic over time. Marah was given the form of a black cat in Sa’s special system.
Eventually, Marah escaped, and seemingly managed to escape the Solar System entirely.
Chapter 4: A Shore Under Watch
A Shore Under Watch
This chapter can be accessed either from the main story menu, or from the top menu in Oxia. Although this chapter is stage based, it is not replayable.
This chapter has a special side mode called ‘Investigation? Theresa’s Great Adventure!’. Make sure not to skip it. It’s best played after the chapter.
Indeed, the male form is no more. It has been deleted from the system. From here on, you can’t select the male form for story content.
However, when you have started the next chapter, you should be able to change back to the male form for gameplay alone if you return to the mirror in Oxia (Chapter 1-3 in the menu).

Character Lore (aka: Who are these people?)

Fu Hua is an ancient genetically modified superwarrior from the Previous Era. She’s over 50.000 years old, and a veritable badass. She has lived and lost.
She spent a long chunk of her life in Shenzhou, China, and perfected her own style of kung fu, the arts of Taixuan.
One of her aliases is the Immortal Phoenix. She has a habit of changing identity and her hair and eye colours tend to change quite often.

A companion of Fu Hua, Griseo was but a child when her Era ended in violence. She was sent off into space on a special ship called the Ark to explore other inhabitable planets to rebuild civilisation.
She ended up on Phosphorus, where Sa, Vita’s creator, was conducting her own reconstruction experiments. A lot happened, and it ended with Griseo as the designated caretaker of Phosphorus.

The Little Vitas are special beings created by Vita and Griseo. They are the administrators of Phosphorus, and sensitive to having their memories altered.
Each of them has a designated colour, trait, and job.

Misteln Shariac is a ‘form’. A being born from the Stigma of the Shariac Family. In short, she’s a totally scientific magical woman with her own reality bending powers.
She has trouble understanding humans, so she often ends up ticking them off. She used to travel with Prometheus, and she currently lives in Phosphorus.

Fu Hua died some time ago. Her mind was separated from her body, and the mind of a Herrscher ended up appearing in its place.
The Herrscher of Sentience ran around with an identity crisis for a bit, until Kiana beat some sense into her. Eventually, Fu Hua regained her body, and later on through circumstance Senti herself would also gain a new body.
Since then, the two have lived like family.

Seele is Bronya’s sweetheart. She became the Herrscher of Rebirth, drawing her power from a different source than other Herrschers due to complicated reasons.
She has a (limited) control over life and death, and can revive people who just died.

The other Seele is a being who used to live in Seele’s Stigma (the symbol on her chest).
When Seele asked her what name she wanted, she said she wanted to be called Seele. Hence they are both Seele. Though when they need to be distinguished, calling her ‘Dark Seele’ will do.
She got a new body on their adventures, so they could live their lives on their own terms.

Kira is a veteran Valkyrie, and a wannabe pop star who can’t sing.
After her squad was wiped out during the Second Eruption, she got herself an alien symbiote and got lost in the Sea of Quanta.
She later managed to reconnect with the alien’s society, the Sugars, and began investigating alien activity in the Sea of Quanta.

This is an, uh, ‘behind the scenes?’ preview of the Honkai Impact 3rd and Honkai: Star Rail collaboration.
Honkai: Star Rail
If you’re not playing Honkai: Star Rail yet, now is the perfect time to give it a go.
Honkai: Star Rail is a turn based RPG wherein the player explores the Honkai Universe. Its development was first announced during the first HI3 concert. The first Star Rail livestream happened on the same day HI3 Part 1 released the end of its final chapter on Global servers.
Character Lore

Sparkle is a character originally introduced in Honkai: Star Rail. She’s a follower of the Path of Elation, a Masked Fool.
In essence, she follows a type of interstellar god called Aha, and the philosophy that one should live in the pursuit of fun and entertainment.
She has the ability to shapeshift, and a talent for acting. She’s also known to do work for hire.
Sparkle’s appearance in Star Rail takes place an indeterminate amount of years in the future. You won’t need any more prior knowledge about her to continue.

This event also refers to the Honkai: Star Rail plot. It’s a bit too much to list everything here. Thankfully, you don’t need to know it to enjoy the event.
Character Lore (aka: Who are these people?)
Earlier we mentioned ‘Lambda’s Game’, a game created by AI Lambda and distributed to other worlds. A game called Honkai Impact 3rd.
During a past event, Lambda summoned one of the players to help her fend off a hacker virus that was affecting the game. This is the ‘Player Captain’, a character that uses your username, and lives in one of those worlds the game was distributed to.

Einstein and Tesla are scientists who have made major contributions to the world’s fight against the Honkai. A dynamic duo that is often seen working together.
Einstein is also Coralie’s adopted mother, as mentioned earlier.
Einstein and Tesla were once killed in a battle, but were lucky enough that someone nearby quickly used the power of the Abyss Flower to revive them. This granted them eternal youth.
Welt Yang is Bronya’s predecessor as the Herrscher of Reason, and the former leader of ‘Anti-Entropy’, an organisation that got absorbed by Schicksal.
He adopted a son, Joey, together with Tesla. He’s a respectable man with over 80 years of life experience, and a massive dork.

This isn’t the first time you’ve seen alternate versions of these two. Since we still haven’t met them for realsies in Part 2, but they keep popping up, let’s explain them here.
Rozaliya and Liliya are two girls from the same orphanage as Bronya and Seele. After a life threatening incident, they were fused with Honkai genes to save their lives. Hence they have tails and horns.

Rounding out most of the Part 1 cast, Rita is Durandal’s partner and housemate. Together they adopted a cat named Stan.
A veteran Valkyrie and a black ops assassin.

Paths and Aeons
While every concept you need to understand will be sufficiently explained within Honkai Impact 3rd, it can be fun to learn a bit more about how these topics were explored in other games. Here, we saw various concepts pop up from Honkai: Star Rail.
The birth of an Aeon gives rise to a Path. The nature of the Paths remains a mystery, leaving us to draw an analogy in a way that mortals can understand: It’s a philosophical concept of sorts.
- Himeko, Navigator of the Astral Express
Paths are another means through which ‘concepts’ define the powers at play. They are one of the fundamental systems around which factions and beings across the universe build their identity. As such, those who come from interstellar civilisations into the Solar System may speak of Paths casually. Such as Sparkle, and our mysterious ‘photographer’.
People know very little about the mysterious existence that dwells in the vast stellar seas. With the limitation of knowledge, intelligent lifeforms can only faintly discern that Aeons tread upon paths imperceptible to mortal beings and execute unfathomable powers via some form of belief. In the end, the Aeons became an embodiment of highly condensed concepts of philosophy through the word of mouth spread of their legends.
If anyone finds themselves treading on the Path of an Aeon, they will be inundated by a distant sensation, like being struck by a gaze from light-years across the cosmos. Many believe that this is the only connection the Aeons and mortals can ever have.
- Data Bank of the Astral Express
Aeons are essentially space gods. In fact, their Chinese name translates directly to ‘Star Gods’
They are major players in the universe, but not to be considered as ‘people’ in any normal sense.
If mortals receiving the grace of Aeons and grasping the power of Paths are viewed as a singular shattered foam, then the mighty feats of Aeons driving their Paths onwards can be likened to a towering tsunami that engulfs mountains. In this empty stellar vastness, a small number of favored mortals can also draw upon the power of the Paths with the permission of the Aeons, creating huge waves that erode the coast. They are referred to as “Emanators.” While not completely subservient to the Aeons, Emanators are as good as emissaries of the Aeons’ wills in everyone else’s eyes.
Different Aeons have different attitudes towards their Emanators, so the degree of the power they share also varies. Some Aeons regard Emanators as an extension of themselves, and as such, generously open their Path to the Emanators completely. There are also Aeons who have no intention of creating Emanators and have no interest in worldly squabbles. Other Aeons just do as they please. It is said that Aha the Elation will randomly give mortals the power of their Path, and toy with humans according to their mood.
- Data Bank of the Astral Express

Elation
Data Bank: Aha the Elation
“The Erudition is a hunk of junk, the Preservation is a fool, the Hunt has no sense of humor, and the Destruction is a lunatic. All the Aeons are as stubborn as they come. What a shame for Aha!”
- A Masked Fool who is a self-proclaimed astronomy expert
The elated one understands that only the wise and sentient possess the privilege of understanding joy. Neither the dusty rocks nor the distant stars can fathom the humor that life entails.
A quest for formidable adversaries in games of strategy and activities to while away the time bears no winners or losers.
Instead, a search for the kind of laughter that leaves one breathless, will lead to the unexpected delights that uplift the soul toward divinity.
The Masked Fools
“Even an organization like the Masked Fools sing praises of their Aeon. The Aeon will never give you up, never let you down, or run around and desert you. THEY will never make you cry, say goodbye, or tell a lie and hurt you.”
- Ast Rickley, super popstar of the Epsilon XII System
The Masked Fools tell a parable of the birth of their beloved Aeon. When the Aeon of Elation climbed to the highest branch on the Tree of Existence, THEY saw the cold and despicable void, the stars operating like machinery, and how the meaning of all things bows before nothingness. THEY continued looking until THEY saw a baby fall to the ground and cry because it had been wronged. The Aeon burst into laughter, laughter so clear it tore through the cold universe and still reverberates through the universe today.
The Fools believe that the truth of the world is a joke, and that the ultimate meaning of all things lies in mere laughter. The universe is merciless, but there is joy to eliminate pain, dilute sorrow, resist nihilism, and heal wounds. Laughter, the gift of intelligent races, is the only answer.
Masked Fools are extremely radical when it comes to their beliefs among the followers of Elation. In their pursuit of pleasure, they do whatever it takes to find it, often causing havoc wherever they go. They laugh at heroes for self-righteousness, kings for their lust of power, lovers for their infatuation, and scholars for their overthinking. The Fools’ objective is to stir the stagnant pool of life to create surges and change, because change is a source of mockery and amusement to the Fools. It would be a welcome sight if someone could turn the tables on them.
Remembrance
Data Bank: Fuli the Remembrance
“Time — the hardest working thief in the world. It keeps stealing away our present from us, and tossing it away in a warehouse named Memory. Some are addicted to recuperating their losses… Others care not in the slightest.”
- Life Is Too Short by Anonymous
The purest memory in existence is the most tolerant: It records everything without disgust or preference. It selflessly preserves every fact and every enchanting gesture. It is a river formed from continuous life, a treasure built up out of eternal wisdom.— Fuli is the fish that swims back upstream. Fuli is the key to this treasure vault. THEY sit in the center of the sanctuary, silently watching as the world tirelessly repeat the same mistakes over and again.
Garden of Recollection
“For people who spend their lives in the desert, even the fleeting memory of aquatic life is priceless.”
- Fables About the Stars by Adrian Spencer Smith
To think is to exist, and memories are proofs of that. All things that make up the material world will eventually perish, but they can live on in another way — through Remembrance.
Contrary to popular belief that memory is mixed with the imaginary, Memokeepers from the Garden of Recollection believe reality and imagination to be a myth. What is absolutely real and immortal in the universe that is constantly reincarnating? Even stars die and black holes evaporate. On a cosmic scale, they vanish in a breath. In this flood of time and life, the only treasure is the memory that proves the existence of people.
Memokeepers from the Garden of Recollection are dedicated to preserving and sharing memories. Enlightened by their master Fuli, Memokeepers shed their mortal flesh and live on as memetic entities. With this unique gift, they can freely traverse between worlds, unconstrained by physical limits. Memokeepers often disguise themselves as natives of the worlds they visit. They trade, copy, steal, deceive… using every means necessary to collect precious memories.
Trailblaze
Data Bank: Akivili the Trailblaze
“Countless shooting stars streak across the night sky… If you can pick the right one, it will carry your wish to thousands of distant worlds.”
- Fables About the Stars by Adrian Spencer Smith
There are three directions on the compass of destiny — the Unknown, the Known, and the Unknowable. THEY can tolerate the Unknown, but will never bow to the Unknowable.
Akivili left the isolated world of Pegana and continued to expand the unknown edges of the universe, trying to find an endpoint of the Tree of Existence. Unfortunately, Akivili’s destiny was abruptly ended due to an accident.
The Nameless
“Mysterious strangers were seen to come and go in many worlds.”
- Fables About the Stars by Adrian Spencer Smith
A thousand years ago, the Aeon Akivili traversed across worlds, laying down the silver rail that linked worlds together in the sea of stars, and leaving behind countless legends about the universe and exploration. The brave and curious were attracted by the tales of these adventures and followed the steps of the Trailblaze, joining the god on their journeys to explore the cosmos.
The adventurers called themselves the Nameless. They rode the Express created by Akivili, and set off on thrilling adventures on planets connected by the star rail. Legend has it that Akivili the Trailblaze loved journeying with mortals. THEY and the Nameless would share wine from various worlds and sing songs composed by diverse civilizations. They would disguise the moving Express as the trail of a shooting star and laugh at the people looking up in awe. However, they would often get into deep trouble due to their recklessness, only to be saved by the Aeon’s power. Akivili formed a deep bond with THEIR followers, and their adventures continued to attract travelers to join the ranks of the Nameless.
When Akivili fell, a group of loyal Nameless carried on what the Aeon had started, continuing the exploration of the unknown. They held the belief that one day the will of Trailblaze will connect the entire universe. The Astral Express that once carried Akivili and THEIR followers still hurries between the stars till this day. It is believed that the Express is powered by the heart of the deceased Aeon, and is repairing with great difficulty the star rail contaminated by the unknown cancer.
Permanence
Loading Screen: Long
The deceased ancient Aeon who presided over the Path of Permanence. THEY used to appear in the form of a giant dragon. THEY left behind a large number of descendants known as Long’s Scions.
Myriad Celestia: Exodus of the Five Dragons
The following is a lore animation released surrounding the origin of dragons. It follows a conversation between a penman called Oppenheimer, and a Vidyadhara called Taoran.
The first half might shed some more light on the overall nature of cosmic dragons, and by extension Narhalab.
The second half is a bit more specifically about the Vidyadhara of the Xianzhou, and served as flavour for a story arc in Season 1 of Honkai: Star Rail.

Story I
The little girl couldn’t help but smile. Before going to work, the girl’s mother had dotted a spot between the girl’s eyebrows with a lipstick, saying it was a beauty mark. Her father had also praised how cute she looked before he left.
Looking at herself in the mirror from different angles, young Helia saw the bow tie she had put on early this morning. The color really matches her makeup… and it was quite a nice look. And so the little girl in the mirror smiled even more brightly, her big eyes curved like crescents, her pressed lips turning upward to reveal her adorable little fangs.
“That’s me!” She cheerfully tapped her forehead in the mirror, and her reflection smiled back while its finger met hers. She then pulled down her cheeks with her fingers, making a funny face, and her reflection mirrored the same droopy-eyed expression. She couldn’t help but giggle out loud.
After she finished laughing, she crouched down and cupped her face, carefully examining herself in the mirror. “That’s me.”
Story II
There were so many people in the mirror.
There was the brilliant silhouette of her strongest Senpai, shining like an eternal, undying light; there was the wavering figure of her genius companion that made her heart sting when she gazed upon it… That shadow seemed to be fading; there were also…
There were also vengeful spirits, their eyes burning with hatred as they traversed countless fragmented worlds to seek revenge. Those figures replaced her reflection and devoured her emotions. They left behind only endless agony and regret that became a blood-stained dagger piercing her still growing resolve.
She heard her own voice from childhood, a tiny and deeply aggrieved child crying out in pain, “That’s not me…”
Where am I? She couldn’t see herself.
Story III
She closed the notebook that she had been using since a long time ago. From literature classes in elementary school until now, her handwriting had become increasingly neat. Lately, it even seemed to have broken free from rigid constraints, daring to deviate from the lines and appearing notably more relaxed.
“This moment was bound to come.”
When was this poem written? Was it during a time of panic and confusion after losing someone dearest?
“Once again, you will love a stranger who was once you.”
Was it when I was lost among different versions of myself and caught a glimpse of myself on the verge of tears in the mirror?
“Take out the wine. Serve the bread. Return your heart to itself.”
Or… was it when I finally found my reflection in the mirror and gazed at my features once again? Was it when I experienced the joys and sorrows of the girl named Helia and faced my true feelings head-on?
“Dispel that image of yourself in the mirror. Sit down and enjoy your life.”
She huffed a breath on the mirror and wiped it clean. The bright surface was like a calm, clear lake, perfectly reflecting Erdős Helia’s straightforward and composed expression. Just like she did long ago, she pressed her lips together and broke into a gentle smile:
—”That’s me,” she said.

Story I
Does she remember the tastes from her childhood? The young lady pondered carefully.
Was it the taste from Issen Manor? But the appearance and flavors of the meals and pastries she had with her father and mother have been blurred by time.
Was it the taste from the Northern Desert? There was the tea her master brewed and the pastries she bought, but the young lady can’t remember if the tea was bitter or had a sweet aftertaste. The same goes for the pastries. She can’t tell if they were light or richly flavored. These subtle differences have been quietly smoothed away by the years.
However, she remembered the sweetness that filled her heart when sharing snacks with her father; the bitterness of practicing swordplay under her mother’s guidance; the sourness when watching her master devour all the taro cakes; and the warmth when making tangerine lanterns with her master—those sentiments from the past remained crystal clear.
Sometimes, taste is a form of memory—the young lady firmly believed.
Story II
Which taste left the deepest impression? The young lady was lost in thought.
Was it the taste of blood from her first victorious sword trial? That salty-bitter flavor taught her the meaning of death and the resolve needed for battle.
Or was it the first meal after waking up from the Schicksal life support pod? The familiar bowl and chopsticks, the familiar piping-hot food—though her awakening taste buds could not distinguish sweet from sour, they tasted the shift of the stars and how times had changed.
Sometimes, taste is an experience—the young lady reflected.
Story III
What flavors did she enjoy among her recent favorites? The young lady’s heart bloomed with joy.
Was it the spiciness of Sichuan Mapo Tofu? The sweetness of taro bubble tea shared with Susannah? The saltiness of the ‘ageless spring’ made by her Great Master? The bitterness of Theresa’s favorite cold bitter melon? The perfectly balanced sourness of Rita’s rose jam?
It was all of them. A thousand flavors have blended together in her current life. One day, the young lady would look back and realize that every meal’s sweet, sour, bitter, and spicy flavors have left their marks of joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness throughout her unfinished journey.
Or perhaps it was none of these. New flavors always awaited her at the next destination, and she would taste them for the first time with an excited smile.
Sometimes, taste is an adventure—the young lady speculated eagerly.

Story I
Excerpt from Rice Cake’s carefully written “Top Secret! Kiana Observation Diary”:
1. Because Kiana doesn’t dry her hair properly, she’ll wake up with a messy bedhead the next day, her hair sticking out just like Stan. “But she’s a million times cuter than Stan!”
2. Kiana’s sneeze sounds super funny, like she’s about to laugh but is suddenly startled — “Haaaa-choo!”
3. Kiana must hug something to sleep. Besides me, her room has at least three dolls that’s flattened from all her hugging — “I’m feeling a bit flat lately too.”
4. Kiana likes to mutter lines like “I shall end this” and “I’ll cut this down” while reading manga, and often gets so excited she rolls around on the bed and giggles under the covers — “It’s such a shame no one else can see this!”
Story II
Moon Base Holiday Summary, provided by PROMETHEUS:
During the holiday, Kiana and Rice Cake pretend to be asleep because they don’t want to wake each other up. However, they’ll actually fall asleep and only wake at noon. Shockingly, this has happened eleven times. They missed three sessions of Mei and Rita’s cake taste tests, one of Theresa’s morning tea parties, and eleven morning sparring sessions initiated by the Herrscher of Sentience.
Because Rice Cake has joined her, Kiana has received far more red envelopes than peers of her age!
According to calculations, these red envelopes have already been invested in the “Moon Base Food Center”, “Endless Smart Entertainment”, “Intellectual Education”, and other stores.
Kiana’s holiday keywords are: “Rice Cake”, “Yay”, “Oh no”!
Those three keywords are often used in the following situations: “Yay! Rice Cake has learned to…” and “Oh no! Rice Cake and Stan are fighting again…”
Story III
“So Kiana went through all that in the past. If it were me, I’ll apologize to Mei a hundred times over, and resolve the problem together with her. As for Senti, I’ll give her a super warm hug, and for Uncle Kevin… a serious battle does sound more effective than talking all night!”
“Haha, that’s right. Looking back now, the first two methods you mentioned indeed have a very high success rate. I just didn’t think of it back then.”
“It has a 100% success rate! Everyone is a delicious piece of ‘rice cake’, just of different flavors. But among all the stories you’ve told me, there is a small part where even the great me doesn’t know how to deal with at all. I thought that I’d become as strong as you, as long as I interact with everyone for a period of time. But I was wrong, you’ve long been standing in a place far, far away. Now, your wish is more ambitious than simply making more friends. Kiana, do you think… it’ll come true?”
“Rice Cake, we adore and admire each other, precisely because the distance between us is far apart. If we could get anything we wanted with our eyes shut, many things would become meaningless. Of course, just like how you think the distance between us is unfathomable, the same can be said between me and my very, very ambitious wish.”
“Then, why aren’t you troubled at all?”
“Because I believe a wish that cannot be fulfilled now will definitely come true in the future. That’s what the past has taught me.”

People have gradually grown accustomed to the petite new Schicksal Overseer appearing on various occasions — at disaster relief centers, Schicksal’s annual review meetings, Valkyrie recruitments… Over time, others are changing the way they address her from “Schicksal’s new Overseer” to “the Schicksal Overseer”.
“The organization as well as our world will have a bright future” — This is the trust given to her by those who follow Schicksal and the responsibility she bears as the Overseer.
Perhaps this is also the reason her office is always brightly lit until dawn.
Sparkle
Thousand-Faced Maestro: Cameo
Note: Sparkle does not have an entry in the Dorm. Instead, we’re including her character profile from Honkai: Star Rail.
Character Details
A member of the Masked Fools. Inscrutable and unscrupulous.
A dangerous maestro of theatrics, utterly engrossed in the art of performance. Adorned with innumerable masks, she is the hero with a thousand faces.
Wealth, status, power… None of those matters to Sparkle. The only thing that can get her attention is “amusement.”
Story I
The girl, an abandoned orphan, lived without knowledge of her origins or destination until she encountered a passing troupe. From a distance, she watched a black-haired lady with a double ponytail, gracefully moving across the stage like a fish. Despite donning various masks, they did not hinder her laughs and cries during her performance, captivating the audience even from afar. The fish leaped in front of her, then dove back down, creating ripples in the surface of the water.
Gradually, she realized she was watching the performance from beneath the stage.
Intrigued, she continued to watch the performances for countless days, but she remained an audience member, never stepping into the spotlight. After one of the shows ended, she went backstage, where the black-haired lady handed her a mask.
“Can I perform, too?”
“Why not? If others believe you are ‘Sparkle,’ then you are. Go, it’s time for your show.”
As the curtain, serving as the fourth wall, was drawn, the stage remained dimly lit, revealing an unsettling black void. Though wearing a mask, she knew the audience could see and hear her. She kept recalling Sparkle’s performance, imitating her movements, voice, and demeanor.
“You’ve done very well for your first time.”
“But my imitation… Was not perfect.”
“That is a minor hiccup, but not a problem as long as nobody notices the difference… By the way, we are leaving tomorrow, so for as long as you want, you are the true Sparkle here, and you can make her whoever you want her to be.”
Sparkle wanted to say something, but the lady affectionately rubbed her head.
“Not many people come to see us, except for you. We’re just a small troupe, and we don’t have grand aspirations of becoming famous in the cosmos… It brings me joy to meet someone like you who will remember an insignificant character named Sparkle… Don’t cry, you can keep this mask. Now it’s yours.”
Sparkle nodded.
“When you don this mask, you have the power to become anyone and no one… If you truly aspire to be an actor, don’t limit yourself to this small stage. Set your sights on the larger world and explore new horizons.”
Story II
As the last descendant of the Puppet Clan, the girl lacked the freedom to choose. She was bound to live her life according to the dictates of the mask, as puppets were mere vessels for the masks.
According to their legend, the longer a puppet dons a mask, the higher the chances of the puppet acquiring a soul, resembling a true human. However, in human folklore, masks were depicted as tools used for resurrecting the deceased, thus leading to the dwindling numbers of her people.
However, as she had no interest in becoming human, being a doll was not an unfavorable choice for her. She dutifully obeyed the commands of the mask, despite the risk of attracting pursuers, as defying the mask proved to be challenging.
Movement was a crucial aspect.
By the will of the mask, she needed to smile sweetly when happy, hold her forehead while crying, grit her teeth when angry, narrow her eyes when jealous, and make a scene when in despair. There were also signature gestures, such as raising her eyebrows slightly to face others with the left side of her face, and raising her hand to express love, although she had to lower it later, as slightly biting her lower lip was the way to convey her true desires.
Voice was another aspect.
Depending on the situation, her voice needed to be cheerful when happy, mellifluous when expressing lyrical emotions, calm and assertive when making statements, strained when harboring hatred, and sorrowful when filled with grief.
Remarkably, she managed to sustain this way of life for years, seamlessly blending into her surroundings and even becoming a playwright. Nobody ever suspected that she wore a mask. However, she couldn’t help but wonder if there existed another type of “mask” in the world — perhaps someone wearing such a mask would laugh when seeking revenge, shed tears when smiling, remain silent when raging… And speak the most sarcastic remarks with the utmost calmness.
Naturally, she couldn’t do this due to the will of the mask, but as a playwright, making her characters on stage act like this was easy for her.
One morning, the doorbell rang, but it wasn’t her usual delivery person at the door.
“Dear Miss Sparkle, I wonder if we could have a chat?”
“We have read your latest work, and we’re curious if you know anything about the ‘Mask’…”
Story III
The faceless girl realized that she must be under some kind of curse. Why else couldn’t she feel any stimuli? Her sense of pain, taste, and smell were all intact, yet she was unable to react to them. Naturally, she couldn’t experience joy, anger, sadness, or a range of emotions. She could only strive to observe others’ reactions in various situations to understand their feelings.
“…How would you feel if you were drinking a cup of bitter tea? How would you drink it?”
Although tied to the chair and immobilized, the homeless man on the left made an appreciative gesture and nodded. The girl in the middle immediately cried and shook her head in denial, while the madam on the right wrinkled her nose in disgust.
“What if you were in an extremely cold hut, with only this cup of tea at hand?”
Naturally, the man nodded. The girl cried for a while and then reluctantly accepted, while the lady still reacted in disgust.
She continued to change her scenarios and ask questions day and night until her interviewees passed out. She would send them home and seek out new targets for her “interviews.”
During that time, the town’s inhabitants all had the same nightmare. They found themselves trapped in a place where a blurred-faced young girl politely asked them questions, and they had no choice but to answer. They could only provide responses repeatedly until the young girl meticulously recorded every detail on paper masks, one after another. Whenever a mask was filled, it was replaced by another.
This nightmare was soon replaced by another, as residents claimed to see paper masks flying through the air in the middle of the night. The masks would talk to each other, faintly glowing before eventually fading out, resembling sparklers in the night sky. They appeared every night, as if they were residents living in the shadow of the town.
In a dark basement, a young lady remained unaware of this nightmare. She had gathered enough information about people’s nuanced emotions and their perceptions of different things… To make more paper masks. She firmly believed that although she possessed no emotions, the masks she created had flesh and blood. She even believed that one day, they would become real beings.
Story IV
“There are a few versions that are particularly popular.” When Sparkle arrived at Fool’s Tavern, she admitted her deeds. “Liking and believing are two different things, but people are more likely to believe in their favorite stories.”
“Lies? Come on, I’m not trying to tell a grand story or fabricate an eye-catching experience… I’m wholeheartedly exercising my imagination for my own sake. I imagine various lives, seek excitement, and then recreate them as best I can, and pump the brakes on my imaginative balloon just a second before it bursts.”
“Seriously, having a script is far from enough. First and foremost, I must wholeheartedly believe that the character I’m portraying truly exists. Then, I need to imagine the other stories where the character would appear. I always need extra information to make their motivation logical and emotional.”
“And only then will I feel I can grasp the essence of the character without being influenced by others. After all, I might encounter other Fools, and I won’t know what they want until I know who they are. Sometimes, you simply like the appearance of a character, and sometimes, you just want to experience it for fun. I do that sometimes, too.”
“And of course, there are those who play solely for the sake of gain or to be regarded in that way, hoping for unimaginable wealth, status, or power… Anyway, what I’m trying to convey is that in such an environment, who but myself can guarantee that I won’t stray from my intended path and become a character in someone else’s story? Nobody! That’s why I have to tirelessly imagine and immerse myself in the act.”
“No, I’m not denying it… It’s truly addictive to me. The more I imagine, the more I get absorbed in those characters, the wonderful and tragic situations I create for them, and the emotions they experience in those circumstances…”
“Sure, I used to think about that kind of life… Joining a troupe, becoming an actor, traveling to unknown planets for performances, creating a character with my own name on it… But then, one day, I had a sudden realization!”
“If you want to perform, is there a stage more captivating than your own life?”

Story I
“After a long journey, the brave HOMU King restored peace to the world and everyone lived happily ever after.”
Father closed the fairy tale book, dishevelling the girl’s braid as he patted her head with a firm hand.
“I want to become the brave HOMU King and fight against the baddies! I’ll bring smiles to everyone’s faces!”
She tiptoed, swung the umbrella in her hands, and waved the pillowcase like a flag under the sun.
“Haha, that will be an arduous path. Mommy and Daddy just want you to grow up happily.”
She threw herself into her mother’s embrace playfully. The scent of the moonlight, sea salt, and flowers surrounded her gently.
“I’m not afraid! I want to become a warrior who is stronger than Mommy and Daddy! I’ll save the world!”
That was a naive declaration made by the child, but also her lifelong goal.
Story II
That was her first mission.
Red. The redsand stone castle before her eyes, the blood dripping from her fingertips, and her comrades’ faces as they departed.
Vibrant lives came to an abrupt end and she was the only one remaining in the second echelon.
Forget the anxiety before stepping into battle, forget the fearsome roars of the Honkai Beasts around.
She raised her weapon and protected the human civilization behind her.
That seemed like the only way for her to forget those regrets and that helplessness.
And so, the girl continued to march forward in the dark night.
She watched the light, reborn from the breaking dawn, rise slowly.
“I must continue to fight! I will take our world back from the Honkai!”
She had already forgotten her past, and knew the future she was headed toward.
Story III
“After a long journey, the brave HOMU King restored peace to the world and everyone lived happily ever after.”
She finished the story and met the sparkling eyes of the children from Ruimu.
“What happens next? Miss Bianka, do you know what the brave HOMU King is doing now?”
“Hmm? Now?”
She raised her head. Before her was the bustling streets of Ruimu, vibrant lights, and hot steam from the shops’ kitchen windows.
She heard her companions call out her name gleefully and listened to the children’s chatter that were filled with fantasies.
“I think that the HOMU King is still performing his duty—”
“Protecting the hard-earned peace and helping everyone fulfill their dreams.”
“And in the future, more brave HOMUs will join his cause, fighting for all that is beautiful in the world.”
“Then, can I join, Miss Bianka?”
The children raised their hands in excitement, resembling lively, glowing stars.
“Of course. Let’s make a pinky promise.”
This was the path she continued on, and the future that belonged to everyone.

She changes into comfy clothes, turns off all notifications, locks the door, and settles into a cozy sofa in a room with the curtains drawn tight. With a bowl of bitter melon-flavored instant noodles in hand, she chats with her puppet about the TV shows.
No socializing, no work — just the feeling that, by shedding the robe her grandfather made, she can momentarily escape the burdens left by the predecessor. Even though she knows it’s just self-deception, she chooses to spend this precious downtime in peaceful, if somewhat dull, solitude.
Story II
Here’s a glimpse into a day in the life of Overseer Archbishop Theresa Apocalypse, captured by accident on surveillance video:
At 8 AM, Theresa Apocalypse rushed into her office, where Amber had already organized the global reports, ready for her review.
After spending the morning going through these tedious reports, lunchtime finally arrived. Durandal returned to Schicksal HQ, dropping off five freshly completed mission reports.
In the afternoon, as Theresa opened her computer, Susannah excitedly submited her proposal for the next episode, asking Theresa to review it. Theresa spent two hours going through Susannah’s plan, with an hour and a half spent correcting typos.
As the workday wound down, Theresa quickly finished her daily summary. But just before uploading it, she noticed Rita’s impeccable weekly report. Feeling her own report was too simple, Theresa decided to rewrite it.
Then her phone rang — it was a message from Bronya. The message included a photo of Bronya playing the latest test version of Arahato with Mei and Kiana, bragging about getting off work on time for once.
Theresa decided to call it a day too, setting aside her stressful thoughts. But as she was about to shut down her computer, she realized all her afternoon edits were overwritten by Susannah’s errors. Exhausted, she finally collapsed and fell asleep at her desk.

Story I
The orphanage’s performance is starting tonight.
Before her moment arrived, Maria headed to her secret hideout to rehearse the script for Black Star once more.
However, there’s already someone near the large tree at the hideout.
—A girl Maria has never seen at the orphanage before. The moment their eyes met, Maria immediately looked down.
“Sorry for bothering you, I’ll leave now!”
“Why are you speaking so formally? Do you know me?”
“No, but your clothes… they look expensive.”
“Clothes don’t determine a person’s worth. A person’s value can only be defined by themselves.”
Confused, Maria looked up. The other girl with light-colored hair approached her.
“The clothes I’m wearing… I couldn’t afford them, I found them in the trash” said the girl with light-colored hair.
Maria breathed a sigh of relief and straightend her back.
“I’m glad you’re not from a wealthy family. If you were, I wouldn’t dare talk to you. But you look like a real noble. If I wore clothes like that, I’d be too ashamed to lift my head.”
Maria understood why she couldn’t lift her head. After all, she was dressed as White Star, while she was the one playing Black Star.
“That just means there’s something wrong with the clothes; they’re not good enough for you.”
As she said this, the girl with light-colored hair wore a confident expression.
But Maria has always heard the opposite.
It came up when she stared at nice clothes, when she secretly recited White Star’s lines, and every time she imagined transforming from a sparrow into a phoenix.
Looking down at her not-so-clean clothes, Maria softly asked, “In your eyes… what kind of clothes would suit me?”
The girl with light-colored hair thought for a moment, then left the secret hideout with a cryptic answer.
Though they didn’t become friends and Maria didn’t know her name, she remembered that sentence for a long time—
“When you put it on, you’ll naturally know. Chatty little sparrow.”
Story II
“This doesn’t suit me.”
“Why not? Big sis Que is lying again!”
“When have I ever lied? Look, I have to run around to drum up business, and sometimes I have to deal with trouble that requires some fighting. Of course, clothes that are loose and not a big deal if they get ruined are best for me—just like these!”
As she spoke, Que carefully showed the girl the advantages of her outfit, which could be described as “beggar clothes.”
“Big sis Que, this is everyone’s heartfelt gift.”
“I understand,” Sister Que said, patting the girl’s head. “But how long would you all have to save up just to buy me a new outfit?”
“A… a month.”
“How many boxes of Ming’s fried doughs can you get with a month’s savings?”
“Twenty-five… no, twenty-seven boxes.”
“Alright then, let’s return the outfit and buy the fried doughs instead—one box a day for twenty-seven days!”
In the end, the girl couldn’t convince Que to accept the gift.
If big sis Que wasn’t lying, what was she thinking when she looked at the shop window full of new clothes?
Story III
“I need to remind you, there’s still some time until the next Fear Gathering.”
Songque took a step back, her gaze shifting from the shop window to the floating Gadget beside her.
“I’m just browsing, not buying.”
“Got it. I’m not trying to discourage your shopping urge. If you decide to buy this skirt, I can figure out how you can make it until the next Fear Gathering. If you’re hesitant to buy but still want a change of clothes, I can suggest alternative methods.”
“What methods? Tell me more.”
“You should head to Masquerade Corridor right away and awaken Thelema.”
“Do you really enjoy watching Thelema lecture me?!”
After many years with Perception, Songque had come to understand her personality well.
Perception often guided others with a rational and fair approach, leading them down paths that were challenging but not necessarily wrong.
“But seriously, there’s something I’ve always wondered. Can you give me a straightforward and honest answer this time?”
“I’m always serious and honest.”
“Alright. In your eyes… what kind of clothes suit me?”
“I don’t have eyes.”
“Why are you suddenly pretending you can’t see?”
“Even though I don’t have eyes, I know the answer.”
The spherical core of Gadget suddenly emitted a faint glow.
The light swayed and flickered, vanishing into the darkness within the core in an instant, like an enigmatic smile, a gaze difficult to interpret.
“When the time comes, I’ll reveal the answer to you in my own way.”
Songque suddenly realized she might not understand Perception as well as she thought.
But she still anticipated the answer it would eventually provide.

Gender | Female | Weight | 53 kg |
Organization | Langqiu (Seven Shus) | Birthplace | Unknown |
Story I
A heavy gun and fluorescent hair.
She softly hums a requiem as she walks slowly over, bringing away the fears nested within the darkness.
“Lantern”, who inherited her name from the fallen organization, is the light that illuminates the night, the raging flame that burns away all shadows.
Just like her title, she abandons her life for Destruction.
Countless battles have honed her body and mind, and forged a path that she is now used to. She stands among the Seven Shus using the mere strength from a mortal body, and protected this disaster-ridden land for a century.
“A lantern may not be able to eliminate darkness, but it allows those in the lasting night to know the existence of light.”
Chaos is perpetual and humans are fickle, only the blazing light from “Lantern” remains unextinguishable.
Story II
“Lantern” would never forget the first gun she got.
A pitch black gun with a thin barrel, adorned with flame-like prints on its stock. It felt slightly rough in her hands.
However, it was a wooden gun replica, made of intricate wood. It was colored with glinting black paint, and the flame-like prints were but doodles made by her mother, who wasn’t familiar with art at all.
At that time, she stood by a work desk that was as tall as herself, and took this long-awaited gift from her father’s hands.
“Do you like guns that much, Tsavorae?”
“Mhm, because they’re really cool!” The girl smiled brightly as she continued, “And with this gun, I can do something when I encounter baddies!”
In the future years, she’d obtain many more firearms. Each and every one of them would accompany her through the numerous borders of death. Even so, she still kept her very first one, although it was but a poorly crafted toy.
She had never forgotten those warm memories, just as she had never forgotten that she “had to do something”.
Story III
To “Lantern”, joining the Seven Shus was a rather unpleasant accident. Regrettably, her life was filled with such accidents.
Destiny often bestowed gifts upon her in a mocking manner. On that same day, she received an extraordinary gift. Yet she only obtained countless, endless enemies that were born within the shadows.
… Oh, and a new bunch of lively companions.
Even when she was working for the organization, “Lantern” was used to being alone. However, things were quite different now.
“Oh my, after hunting me all this time, we ultimately have to work together… Oh, won’t you look at that, Litost? She’s brandishing her dagger at me again, how can I tolerate that?”
“Since Miss ‘Lantern’ says that I’m very dangerous… then will you protect me?”
“Miss ‘Lantern’, I admit my mistake, please show mercy… Ah, I knew that you were a forgiving person. You were just joking, right? So, do you want to consider my business proposal again?”
…
“*cough* How is it? Accepting my humble invitation to the Seven Shus wasn’t a bad idea, right?”
“…” She gave a side-eye to the man who had given her the Astral Ring, before turning away.
The shadows will descend again and her battles will never end.
But at least right now, Langqiu was at peace.

Mad Pleasure: Shadowbringer
Background Information
Date of Birth | Unknown | Height | 164cm |
Gender | Female | Weight | 50 kg |
Organization | Langqiu (Seven Shus) | Birthplace | Unknown |
Story I
On her birthday, the girl received a luxurious dress as her present.
The material was exquisite and the handiwork was impeccable. Even someone who knew nothing about fashion would feel the wearer’s nobility from the vivid color and complex patterns.
The young girl took the dress into her hands. The ribbons on the dress were difficult to tie, and the pearls on it seemed heavy. However, she easily tightened the sleeves and smoothened the dress, before walking toward the seat of honor of the birthday banquet with her head held high.
And then, she saw it.
A hall decorated with radiant gold, a grand banquet, and her strict, dignified parents. This was the nobility she was born with, and the nobility that would entangle around her until her death.
As for the passing servants… For the first time, the girl discovered the sense of hidden fear in the way they looked at her luxurious dress.
Story II
On the day she succeeded the clan as the clan’s head, the girl put on an formal outfit that symbolized her family.
It was heavy and tight, as if it had inherited the past glory of the Nutriscu family. The golden shoulder ornaments were weighty and she could still feel the sharp corner of her family emblem over the cloth at her chest. However, if she moved even a little, she would feel the sharp looks from her elders, and that dissuaded her from adjusting her accessory.
The ceremony was long and tasteless, but this was only the beginning. The girl knew that she still had to wear this garment as prominent figures crowded around her in countless similar ceremonies. She couldn’t take this ceremonial outfit off, she couldn’t take the luxurious dresses she had for banquets, or the light outfits she wore for leisure. Every outfit she wore was something she had to inherit as a noble.
But… what if she made some modifications?
When she had that thought, the girl heard a crisp “click”. The eyes that restrained her lost their power. When she lifted her head again, she discovered that even with the elders’ strict and cautious pretense, they could not hide their fear.
Story III
On the day the mad banquet first opened, the girl attended with a dress she had personally designed.
Bold cuttings snipped unnecessary parts away cleanly. Her free design still retained the elegance and magnanimity of a noble. At least, that was how it looked to the girl.
Of course, she was fair from satisfied with this.
The corridor, the stage, and the guests. Decorum, rules, and aristocracy.
“Everything has to be tailored by me, dominated by me…”
Then, the most vibrant fear and fun would bloom at her mad banquet.
“That includes you, do you understand?”
“Raise your cups, and acclaim my name!”

Story II
“What does it say Coralie?”
“Something like how you’re a mortal form brought down to this earth by the gods. Earth is full of stories about gods and legends and Cambrian 535’s AI must have been influenced by them.”
“Stories can have that effect on AI?”
“That’s because the convenience of general-purpose AI far surpasses that of customized AI. If I load Cambrian 535 with drawing software, it could even make posters for us.”
“If we gave it a human body, would it be able to partner with us like a human?”
“It’s not so simple. Cambrian 535 has intellect equivalent to that of a household pet. If given a language model, or a human form, it might cause a lot of societal issue.
“Oh… What a shame…”
Story III
What’s it like being born from a rock?
Not all that different from being born from a placenta.
She likes all the things young people like, because she’s just another ordinary young person.
Gods, transcriptions, these are all external to the body.
When you think about it, whether it’s Dreamseeker or Chenxue… there are plenty of children born from the Sea of Data.
So, what’s so special about Senadina?
…
Well…
Maybe there is something special about her.

Erdős Helia
Valkyrie Boltstorm
Background Information
Date of Birth | Unknown | Height | 168cm |
Gender | Female | Weight | 55 kg |
Organization | Earth (Schicksal) | Birthplace | Unknown |
Story I
“What kind of person do you want to be?”
The first time Helia heard this question was in her elementary school literature class.
She lifted her head out of her book, and on the page was a short poem she had half copied.
“Among the stars in the skys above, may one guide my life through darkness unknown.”
Helia spent a moment pondering the question. To her young mind, it was a question about the type of career she wanted. She loved how the wind felt blowing past her ears, so perhaps she should be an athlete. She also loved seeing never-before-seen lands, so maybe an explorer would be good. Or maybe… a chef was a good idea?
Just before the day was up, Helia still didn’t have an answer.
The future was so far away, just like the star in the poem, that only a vague outline could be seen.
And so, that evening, she took a page from her textbook and added an extra line at the end and wrote, “… No matter who I become, I will ignite my life for it.”
Though at that age, she didn’t quite know what she meant by “ignite.”
Story II
“What kind of person do you want to be?”
Helia wasn’t one to leave problems for the future.
The question would come to her mind more than once in her life: as she left her childhood, graduated, became a Valkyrie…
Valkyrie training was monotonous and grueling, but suited her well. It was challenging, and she loved a challenge. But it wasn’t until her first battle that she realized just what her choice meant.
Before combat, their leader stood before them to get them ready to fight. Her words weren’t exactly poetry, but everyone got the message. She stood there like a flag, raising everyone’s spirits.
No one is born strong, but with hard work and determination, anyone can become strong.
Helia held her breath, her eyes unblinking as she gazed at the Valkyrie in front of her, as though she were gazing at the brightest star in the night sky.
It was in that moment, for the first time, she saw what it looked like when a soul burned for an ideal.
Story III
“What kind of person do you want to be?”
She lifted her eyes from the notebook and said in a derisive tone: “Sounds like something out a kid’s diary.”
“What a coincidence, it is from a kid’s diary.” Helia was looking at the diary nonplused. “But it really does cover the whole of life, doesn’t it?”
“What a shame, the moment we call something life, it because so tricky to talk about.” Her companion gave a slight wag of the tail.
And so, Helia was alone in her room once more. She stood looking out the hotel window; the world was enveloped in the quiet of night. It was a view she knew well, and yet a completely foreign Martian landscape. And tomorrow, she’ll travel to the mysterious Sea of Data with her new friend and soon-to-be partner.
She might not have had the answers to life’s questions, but at that moment, she felt happy and fulfilled.
Helia closed her notbook and in an answer to her childhood self’s question replied
“I think… I’ve found the star I want to ignite my life for.”

“50 days of solitary confinement to win an amazing prize! Is she going to win?” This sort of video is a bit much, no?”
“I get what you mean Helia, but this video is 100% real.
“Even if it is true, who’d be able to win something like that?”
“You adapt. You could think up a novel and read it to yourself, create a game with whatever’s lying around the room, or take an advance on the prize money to get more stuff for the room. When you think about it, that room probably isn’t all that different from Hyperion 11 that we’re on now.”
“You sound like you’re talking from experience. You haven’t played before, have you?”
“Maybe you should just click the video and watch, Helia.”
“…?”
Story II
In the eyes of Joffrey Joyce Yang, there were two Coralies living in the world simultaneously.
One was quiet, shy of social engagements, always with her head buried in a book or gadget, and occasionally admonishing his childishness.
“Even Santa Claus takes breaks you know, do you think you should be any different?”
“Huh? So when can I play with Coralie then?”
“If you were to go to the grocery store right now and buy me two ice creams, it’s not like I wouldn’t be able to keep you company. Oh, and one should be chocolate. And the other… Just pick your favorite.”
And in Joffrey’s eyes, there was yet another Coralie in the world.
The Coralie that was a friend that brought him food, the teacher that quietly corrected his work, the spaceman that silently handed out treats at his birthday party.
And of course… his favorite sister!
Story III
Coralie rarely talked about her birth.
But it wasn’t because she thought the past was all that bad, but rather because she thought questions like “who are your birth parents” and “why were you abandoned” were irrelevant; to solve them like mysteries would be a needless. Instead, when she was young, she’d ponder why she was Dr. Blue’s daughter instead of Dr. Red’s, or Uncle Yang’s. But as it so happened, she’d find out during her birthday not long after.
“Because I won the guess game. Plus it proves that only someone lucky enough deserves to be your guardian.”
Coralie rarely talks about her birth.
Because for her, there’s only one thing even more blatently obvious.
As Einstein’s daughter and a member of Anti-Entropy, she was happy.
